Pursuing a life that is both productive and peaceful.
I’ve been blessed by the wealth of resources available in the world of the blogosphere. As I’ve moved toward a more productive lifestyle, continued my quest for knowledge, redefined myself, and developed my core beliefs, I’ve felt a need to enter the arena.
Playing around with blogging, I’ve started several sites, because of my deep commitment to serving others, but as I’ve increasingly grown in the areas of productivity and knowledge management, I’ve struggled to reach the place that David Allen, in his conceptualization of Getting Things Done calls “mind like water.”
I do too much, worry about too much, and get pulled in too many directions, and as I move towards calm, I’d like to share my journey in the hope that it will help others.
This is not simply a blog about GTD, productivity, knowledge, or the other areas that interest me. Instead, it is intended as an outward reflection of the inner journey, moving my life forward as I touch the interior place still unknown. It is not a judgment on the life of others, but a reflection of who I am, and what I seek to become.
It is an attempt to explore the inner motivations and personality quirks that lead me to make use of the tools that advance my purpose, allow dialogue with those on the same journey forward, and engage this strange new world we’ve entered into in this age of information.
My goal is to make this a space that is deeply personal, yet remains a place of calm. It will allow me to look outward as I journey inward, and help me create an effective response to the stimulus that surrounds me. I’m not a technical wizard, a software genius, a budding entrepreneur, or a dynamic motivational teacher.
I’m just a man on a journey willing to share his thoughts, as he engages the thought of others. Hopefully, this blog will become a place of integration as I share my ideas, and interact with the ideas of others. I’m just a beginner, a student on this journey, so don’t fault me if I seek to learn more than I strive to teach. Like a new gladiator facing the roar of the lions, I begin the walk with much trepidation as I silently enter the arena.
Let the game begin!
